2021 Ken Myles Best Club Person - David Parker
A true testament to the saying “Many hands make light work” - Always a helping hand and at the forefront to assist with whatever situation, a man who goes about his business without making a fuss, with none other than just a passion to serve the EFLUA.
Behind the scenes, David is a true powerhouse of the EFLUA. He consistently is the first to arrive and last to leave at training sessions and is always ever present in all social situations around the club.
Throughout 2021, David was our Bar Manager on training nights, which involves more than what just meets the eye when going up to him to grab a beverage. He always makes sure that the fridge is in operational order, goes out to buy the stock to refill the fridge and makes sure it’s always full of your favourite drinks.
He is a friendly face that is loved by all and makes himself well known to all faces around the club, whether they are freshies or part of the furniture.
David has a wealth of knowledge of what it takes to keep the EFLUA ticking over due to his years of service and being involved within the club.
In 2021, he also managed our 2021 Membership Database to an excellent and high standard which involved tasks such as being on top of new and existing members, organizing the membership packs at the start of the year and also membership cards for each member to use throughout the year which allow them to redeem free drinks and a free meal throughout the year – there is a mountain of work that goes on with this and he was more than happy to put his hand up to help.
He also did a fantastic effort this year in organizing the “FREEZE MND” Beanies which were a massive hit within our club, and he did amazing work with the promotion of these even as we went into lockdown over May and June.
If you thought this wasn’t enough already, David still managed to give more to the club this year, with the organisation of the “Toyota Good For Footy Raffle” (which raised $725 this year), assists in the running of the Social Media Accounts, has designed EFLUA Annual Reports, and has spent time putting together the new Digital Honour Boards which will be put together upon entry into the new EFLUA Rooms in 2022.
A “yes-man” by a long shot, the EFLUA recognizes the mountain of work that David has put into the club this year and we are incredibly grateful for his efforts. Thank you for all you do David, incredibly deserving of this award and such a valuable person within our club!
Congratulations David!
