2021 Brett Myles Award - Daniel Mortlock

Daniel Mortlock is a very worthy recipient of the Brett Myles Award for 2021.

He is a consistent and hardworking boundary umpire and is ever present throughout the club. A friendly and familiar face to all around the club, he loves to have a good chat around the rooms after training and will always be in line for one of the famous feeds from the club kitchen. He is always supportive of the EFLUA in many ways which can be seen in his purchases of raffle tickets and is a regular attendee of our social events.

With his warm and welcoming nature, you know you’re always bound to have a good chat when you run into him at training and our social events.

Daniel can always be seen working hard on the training track and putting in the work before the weekend of games. He is always providing a sense of encouragement around the group and instils good culture around our club for his peers. A humble achiever, Daniel is known for putting his head down, working hard to achieve the task at hand and performs under pressure. He is a welcoming and friendly figure for all on his panels and runs well with the team he is appointed with on game day.

A great example to some of the newer boundary umpires coming through, Daniel is a great reflection of what hard work and determination looks like but also for what it means to mingle with members of the club.

The EFLUA would like to congratulate Daniel on receiving his award as well as his input into our club in 2021 and looks forward to seeing him thrive in years to come.
